NCIHC standards, and NAJIT are intended to provide a common base of understanding, code of ethics of the profession, adopt the reliability with which interpreting is practiced, and expand the excellence of interpreter services.

We adopt and promote the NCIHC Standards of Practice and incorporate into our screening process, but also use it as a reference when interviewing the interpreter. Every interpreter is tested for their language proficiency, evaluated for their interpreting skills, also tested on their knowledge about the Code of Ethics, the Standards of Practice, and basic interpreting procedures.

We have professional and Certified Interpreters

Most of our Interpreters hold a Medical Interpreter Certifications from various organizations, they all have a college degree, and many have a graduate degree in the medical field, in teaching or in the legal field. Their HIPAA compliance is renewed yearly. Our interpreters sign a Confidentiality Agreement or Non-Disclosure that legally binds them not to disclose in any way, any information received from our Clients provided before, during and after the specified assignment.
Because knowledge of what information can and cannot be disclosed is integral to the function of an interpreter, training is mandatory, therefore ALL our Interpreters are trained and certified (when available) for the existing languages for both medical and Legal settings.
We want our Interpreters to represent us in the most efficient and professional manner, and understand that rigorous step to screen interpreter at hiring stage would ultimately link to the more competent and resilient interpreter with fewer skill breaks.
Our interpreters strive to maintain impartiality and refrains from counseling, advising, or projecting personal opinions, biases, or beliefs. Respect Professional Boundaries of the professional role, refraining from other types of involvement. There is more to a good interpreter than being bilingual. We look that our interpreter has outstanding interactive skills and the ability to set aside emotions and opinions, while providing sensitive and nuanced interpretations for all participants.

BECAUSE WITHOUT YOU, WE WOULD NOT BE

This is a whole new interpreting experience with a young company who cares about you because without you, we would not be!!!

Simultaneous

Simultaneous interpreting, the message is conveyed in a direct and immediate manner. Generally used during major polyglot events, conferences preferably with a partner, allowing turns during sessions, in a soundproof both.

Consecutive

Most interpreters are trained in both simultaneous and consecutive, used at some conferences, usually conferences with only two languages. We believe for an interpreter though in case the simultaneous equipment breaks down in a conference setting for instance.

Sight

Sight translation is the oral translation of a written text. When used in an interpreting context where the interpreter conveys the message as he reads it, the act of sight translation becomes sight interpreting.

MEDICAL

HIPAA Compliance and Language Services:

For business entities, what does it mean to be HIPAA compliant? Interpreters that are HIPAA compliant have acquired appropriate HIPAA knowledge for the interpreter to understand the requirements of HIPAA, how HIPAA could be violated and its consequences. Hospitals, clinics, and medical facilities are considered covered entities and are mandated to train all of their employees on HIPAA policies and procedures. However, the medical facilities are under no legal responsibility to ensure their business associates (contracted interpreters) are trained in HIPAA compliance.

ForHIPAA compliance reaches beyond the doctors, nurses and medical providers to include anyone that comes in contact with patients and their health care information. Interpreters are no exception and when providers are making arrangements for communication access, requiring national certification and HIPAA compliance should be mandatory.

ForThe United States Department of Health and Human Services does not endorse any particular training program or course for business associates (including interpreters). It is our responsibility as Interpreting Agency to ensure to our clients, that our Interpreters are fully HIPAA compliant for the best of their patients when providing language access. Patients will most certainly be appreciative of such systematic safeguards being taken to ensure excellence, effective communication while respecting their privacy.

While it would be nice to speak every language, it’s just not possible. Our legal interpreting team will help you understand the highly complex and intricate language used in legal circumstances. Whether you need legal interpreting for the courtroom, private legal matters, or anything else we’ll be there to help you out.

A Bench Card from the Supreme Court of Georgia Commission on Interpreters:

The Law on Foreign-Language Interpreters for Participants in Court Proceedings

LEGAL

Under Federal law, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. § 2000d, and Georgia statutory law, case law, and Supreme Court rules, Georgia courts are required to provide qualified foreign-language interpreters to participants in court proceedings who are limited English proficient (LEP). They must provide these services when necessary to ensure effective communication by and with LEP participants. LEP participants can include litigants, witnesses, and spectators. Court proceedings include all court services, programs, and activities. LEP participants:

  • Cannot be required to arrange or pay for their own interpreters, nor can their attorneys be required to do so;
  • Must be provided an interpreter for any criminal or civil proceeding;
  • Can waive their right to an appointed interpreter if the waiver is in writing and is approved by the court, and can revoke that waiver at any time;
  • Do not waive their right to an appointed interpreter simply because they do not request one;
  • Do not lose the right to an appointed interpreter because they speak or understand some English.

Standards Code of Professional Responsibility for Interpreters:

  • Act strictly in the interest of the court during proceedings before the court and with fidelity to the non-English speaker for whom they are interpreting.
  • Reflect proper court decorum and act with dignity and respect to the officials and staff of the court.
  • Avoid professional or personal conduct which could discredit the court.
  • Work unobtrusively so that attention is focused on the parties rather than the interpreter;
  • Accurately state their qualifications as a court interpreter.
  • Interpret accurately and faithfully without indicating any personal bias. In doing so, interpreters shall:
  • Preserve the level of language used and the ambiguities and nuances of the speaker without editing.
  • Request clarification of ambiguous statements or unfamiliar vocabulary from the judge or counsel.
  • Refrain from expressing personal opinion in a matter before the court.
  • Promptly notify the court of any error in their interpretation.

COMMUNITY

Let’s remember that community interpreting is demarcated as interpreting performed for the purpose of providing access to social services, health care or education.

Laying the ground rules so all participants clearly understand how to proceed is crucial for language access and transparency before each encounter begins. Our interpreters know how to properly do this in the form of a role introduction in both languages and tailor it to match each encounter.

SCHOOL

Parent-teacher conference, Evaluation, EIP meetings, Pre-K evaluation, and any other school meeting, we will cover all these requests for you.

When the students health, well-being, or dignity is at risk, or when student educational access and outcomes would be compromised, the interpreter may be justified in acting as an advocate. Our Interpreters are ere to help you achieve your goal and successfully convey the message to the parent so their student can be successful.

Our interpreters promotes and maintains respect for the cultural beliefs and practices of all parties involved in the interpreting encounter and continuously strives to develop awareness of potential cultural conflicts.
